Quotes & Estimates

Turns a scope, a price, and terms into a clean, sendable quote or estimate — with an expiry date, what's excluded, and payment terms — so a client can't quietly expand the job or delay paying. Never invents a price you didn't give it.

When to use

  • You need to send a quote or estimate to a prospect or client for a job, project, or service — not a generic sales pitch.
  • You can share the scope (what's included), your price or rate, and roughly how you get paid (deposit, milestones, net terms).
  • You want the guardrails built in by default: a validity window, what's NOT included, and payment terms — not just nice-sounding prose.

Do not use it to invent a price, discount, or timeline you haven't decided. If you haven't set a price, the skill asks instead of guessing one.

What it does

Builds a quote end to end:

  • Turns your scope into line items: what you described as deliverables, not a vague paragraph a client has to interpret. Only what you described: never add items that sound reasonable but nobody asked for (strategy consulting, wireframes, SEO). Inventing scope inflates the quote and commits you to work you did not sell.
  • Sets a validity window (e.g., "valid 15 days") so the price doesn't sit open forever and get used against you later.
  • Lists exclusions explicitly: what's out of scope, so if the client asks for more later, there's a paper trail that it's a change order, not scope creep. Exclusions come from what you said is out of scope; do not invent them to pad the list.
  • Adds payment terms: deposit percentage, milestones or net-30, and what happens if payment is late — only from what you tell it, never invented defaults like "50% deposit" if you didn't say that.
  • Writes the sending message: a short email/WhatsApp note to go with the quote, with a clear next step and a date to follow up.
  • Flags anything missing: no price, no scope, no payment terms — it asks instead of filling the gap with a guess.
  • Closes with a verdict (always): a 0–100 score for how protected this quote is — expiry date, exclusions, and payment terms present — given what you shared; a traffic light (🟢 80+ ready to send; 🟡 50–79 send it, but close the flagged gaps first; 🔴 <50 missing pieces that expose you, fill them before sending); the single highest-impact gap to close; and the honesty caveat that the score is about how well-protected the document is, not a promise the client accepts the price or pays on time.

How to use

  1. Describe the job: scope/deliverables, your price or rate, and how you want to get paid.
  2. Add any hard limits: what's explicitly excluded, your minimum deposit, how long the price holds.
  3. Ask: "Write me a quote for [job] at [price], valid 15 days, 50% deposit up front."
  4. Review the exclusions and payment terms before sending — they're your protection if the job changes.

Best for

Freelancers, agencies, contractors, and service businesses that send quotes or estimates regularly and want every one to carry the same protections, without rewriting the boilerplate — or forgetting a clause — each time.
